Charvette guitar dating
The back of the body is a two piece back with lovely matching graining, unmarked. The Frequensator tailpiece has two ends which have broken off hence the drilled holes for two strings, it works fine but the tailpiece could be replaced if required.
This is a collectors guitar which comes from a small private collection, it has its original case which is also in good condition.
This is the pre 1960 model, so it has no truss rod, but the neck is straight, the rosewood fingerboard has twenty-two frets with triple mother-of-pearl dot markers.
The headstock also has beautiful mother-of-pearl inlays and the original three a side tuners.
The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.
String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings.
Finish: original natural blonde finish, nitrocellulose type Body size at lower bout: 16".
