Sccm update collection membership not updating
I've since added an exception to Trend File scanning for the PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT CONFIGURATION MANAGER\inboxes folder and I've noticed a considerable improvement - I'll post back after a week or so to let you know how it's going.
It seems the actual problem here was down to the sheer volume of collections running updates.
You might simply see the hour glass on the collections, Generally nothing was changed on existing collections but a new collection might have been added.
Hi Everyone, I noticed today that when we image machines they get added into our Windows 10 machine collection which has a limiting collection of "All Systems", but they aren't added to our Windows 10 laptop collection which has a limiting collection of "Windows 10 Machines".
No one has made any changes to the collections recently.https://imgur.com/a/pcd4s This was working up until Monday as that is the last day a few of my collections had their last membership change even though we've been imaging machines this week. I've checked out colleval.log, but am not too sure what to look for.
I see that some of the collections have been evaluating incremental changes, but nothing ever gets changed. I did try to force the collection to update by right clicking and updating membership, but the hourglass comes and goes. Your Win 10 laptop collection almost certainly relies on hardware inventory so if the system hasn't reported hardware inventory by the time the collection update runs, there's no way for the collection evaluator to include the system in the collection.
I've posted a screenshot below.https://imgur.com/a/2xff7Any help is appreciated. What's the update schedule on the two collections? Hardware inventory is not generally instantaneous after OSD.
It's all very odd as we didn't make any changes.
