Updating excel 2016 data labels
From the image below, you can see that this graph is based on the index column and the Selected Period column. Our goal is to replace the X axis with data from Date Column.Often there is a need to change the data labels in your Excel 2016 graph. The procedure is a little different from the previous versions of Excel 2016.It is displaying the X Axis label as "21-Mar", "22-Mar", etc.I would like it to display as "Wednesday, March 21, 2016". From here you can set the date format you are wanting. For categorical data, you don’t need to worry about this.
You can also choose other formatting categories to display within the task pane. You will add corresponding data in the same table to create the label. Select the Chart that you have created and navigate to the Axis you want to change. Right-click the axis you want to change and navigate to Select Data and the Select Data Source window will pop up, click Edit 3.You can also create a new set of data to populate the labels. The Edit Series window will open up, then you can select a series of data that you would like to change. Click Ok For a time series like months, when you click select data you will not have the option to directly edit the x-axis.Stack Exchange network consists of 175 Q&A communities including Stack Overflow, the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge, and build their careers.Visit Stack Exchange I have a Pivot Chart (Excel 2016) that displays the instances of a range of dates.
